Findings - Sterling Silver

Prices for items in this category can fluctuate up and down due to the special nature of the importation of silver.

Pure silver is extremely soft, so to make sterling silver which is a useful component in jewellery, pure silver is alloyed with copper (usually) in proportions of 92.5% silver, and 7.5% copper (for strength). Hence the industry standard of stamping sterling silver as ".925" where possible.

As with all Sterling Silver, it will tarnish over time. If you like this patina then you're not alone, but for those who prefer a pristine silver shine, use a silver cloth from time to time on the silver, and store all findings in as airtight a container or plastic bag as possible. Some of our findings arrive in a more patina-d state than others. For professional handling of sterling silver and to buff to required shine, it's always agood idea to invest in a silver cloth.

Where possible we have given measurements and recommendations from our own experience as to what finding works with what. Everyone's tools and levels of expertise vary, so please ensure your purchase is correct for your intended use.
