Men's and boys' shirts for Latin, Salsa, Rock 'n' Roll, Country and Western, etc have particular requirements, but most frequently their job is to stand out on the dance floor and complement their partner's outfit. Find the rhinestones to fit the job perfectly right here on the bloke's page.
We've compiled all you need for stoning men's shirts right here in one handy page. If you have any other ideas of products that you'd like to see here, please contact us...we want to make this a very functional and useful page. And remember, you can always call us if you still want to discuss your order.
We will assume that most shirts you will be rhinestoning are a dark colour or black, but we do acknowledge the odd hot pink shirt will be a go. This page covers all products you might look to put on a darker colour or black. For all other colours please see our extensive range, starting here.
When stoning black, the colour "Jet" is good, but can look a little flat - you'll get glints of light off the facets, but no twinkle and shimmer. It is great if you want to keep a total black look, with a subtle texture from the same colour stones.
The colour "Jet AB" is a tricky one - most people think because it is an AB colour it will stand out and sparkle more than plain Jet. They are usually basing this thinking on Crystal AB being more sparkly than plain Crystal. That'd be right, except that when the AB coating is applied to dark colours such as Jet, Garnet, Montana, etc, the effect is very blue-and-yellow-ed. You might even think you're looking at a blue stone. For this reason Jet AB can look amazing on teal, midnight blue, even black, but they do add a blue and yellow dimension, which may not be welcome if you were wanting to enhance and stay with the black look. Our advice is: consider Jet AB as a 'colour', not a 'black'.
The coating called "Hematite" is applied to Jet stones. This is called "Jet Hematite" by Swarovski and Preciosa, both brands we stock and recommend. We call it Hematite for the sake of ease. Hematite gives a gunmetal look: dark, blackish-grey, and metallic. For this reason it's very shiny and gives off lots of glint and shimmer. We love it on black.
Other dark metallics we stock are "Jetnut" (a dark blackish brown metallic), "Midnight Blue" (a dark midnight blue metallic), "Brown Flare" (a dark chestnut brown metallic), "Dorado" (a dark gold metallic).
We also stock the classic bright gold metallic "Aurum" and bright silver metallic "Labrador".
Finally, "Crystal" and "Crystal AB" are also classic rhinestone colours, and provide a sharp contrast to black because of their 'white/silver' apprearance.
Simple really...choose large stones for a strong look, and complement with either large sew-on jewels for drama or smaller stones for texture. A great look. Use the large jewels for patterns or designs, and the stones for the general sparkle areas...
OR
Choose smaller stones and put on heaps and heaps of the little critters. Yes, quite a bit of stoning, but if you are prepared to do the work, the look is amazing. Total Overall Twinkle, but you'll need a lot of stones...we're talking maybe 10 gross of the size ss10 (hotfix) or ss12 (glue-on).
Preciosa from the Czech Republic do two grades: Viva12 (really blingy), and Art 2000 (an 8 facet stone that has been superceded by Viva12). We stock both grades as Glue-On flatbacks. When stock runs out of the Art 2000 it can't be repeated. Swarovski from Austria do one grade of flatbacks: Xilion (really blingy too), and we stock this in both Glue-On and Hotfix.
